Previously, the editorial team at Dongfang Machinery introduced the production line of cut-to-length (CTL) machines. Was it helpful to you? Today, we will introduce the different types of CTL machines available.

CTL machines commonly found on the market can be broadly classified into three categories based on their processing capacity: medium plate CTL machines, thin sheet large CTL machines, and precision small CTL machines. These three types can essentially meet all kinds of processing requirements.

Medium Plate CTL Machine
The medium plate CTL machine is a specialized piece of equipment for processing hot-rolled coils, with a typical processing capacity ranging from 3mm to 14mm in thickness. Early medium plate CTL machines could only process hot-rolled coils with widths below 1500mm. However, with the introduction of wide-format hot-rolled coils, most processing centers today are equipped with hot-rolling CTL machines capable of handling coils up to 2000mm wide. Some hot-rolling CTL machines also feature edge trimming capabilities.

Thin Sheet Large CTL Machine
The thin sheet large CTL machine is generally capable of processing cold-rolled coils with thicknesses ranging from 0.3mm to 3.0mm. Early thin sheet CTL machines could only process cold-rolled coils with widths below 1300mm. However, as 1500mm-wide cold-rolled coils became widely adopted, CTL machines with 1500mm width capacity quickly took over the market. The processing capabilities of cold-rolling CTL machines are primarily reflected in leveling, surface protection, and stacking.

Precision Small CTL Machine
Precision small CTL machines generally refer to CTL machines that process cold-rolled coils with widths below 800mm and thicknesses ranging from 0.3mm to 3.0mm. Similar to the thin sheet large CTL machine, it primarily processes high-demand cold-rolled coils, particularly those with stringent surface protection requirements — which are generally even more demanding. Its products are typically custom-cut thin sheets, widely used in stamping, precision cutting, and similar applications.

We hope this introduction to CTL machines from the Dongfang Machinery editorial team has been helpful. For more information, please visit http://www.dfjq.com
